List scope

Is the list going to gear itself toward macro images only? Consider a list for landscapes and buildings (where bracketing capabilities may be particularly important). --Bossi (talk • gallery • contrib) 21:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't know. I focus on Macro because I'm interested by this field, and I know all camera don't manage this issue.

As far as I can make out it is 12x zoom (not 18x?).

Compatible Lenses =optional teleconverters=means that I can change the lens if I have money to do so ?

• I am not sure. I wouldn't think so. Its probably a magnifying filter that you attach to your existing lens.

Lens Mount=(no data)=This means no way to change the lens, right ?

• Yes I would think so. I doubt you can change the lens on this camera.

Detecting Range=The super macro and Macro-wide seems interesting for me, what the difference ?

• It seems with Super macro you can focus on subjects that is between 0inches to 3.9 inches away from your camera.
• Macro wide seems to allow you to focus on subjects that are between 3.9 inches and 1.6feet away from.

Zoom Wide=Zoom Tele=36-432=what that ?

• I presume thats the range of focal length of the lens in mm

Recommended camera list (2007) is far out of date

The recommended camera list is (as of October 2013) is 6 years old. In the world of digital cameras this is effectively a list of obsolete cameras not even available new. The recommendations for selection criteria are also obsolete (.

Some points in no particular order

• super zoom, and particularly digital zoom are not very useful
• software is important (for reviewing and selecting images and for cropping and adjusting contrast/brightness/color; some inexpensive software makes high quality image adjustment almost automatic)
• conditions when taking an image outweigh the equipment (being at the right place at the right time, good lighting, a good eye: the picture you do take is always better than the one you do not take)
• before buying a camera, find a friend with a camera in your price range and try to work together to take some images; then closely examine those images - decide what you do like and what you do not like about the camera - Neonorange (talk) 21:42, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
