Category:Poets Corner, Hove

Poets Corner (sometimes rendered Poets' Corner and Poet's Corner) is the semi-official name of a homogeneous residential area of Hove, part of the English city of Brighton and Hove. Many of the streets are named after famous poets and writers, including Coleridge, Shelley, Byron, Wordsworth, Cowper, Shakespeare and Sheridan. It is characterised by terraced housing in a grid layout with small-scale local shops and street-corner pubs, and was largely developed at the end of the 19th century and into the first years of the 20th century. The southern, eastern and northern boundaries are defined as Portland Road, Sackville Road and the West Coastway railway line; the western boundary is not clearly defined, and Poets Corner is used loosely to describe all streets as far west as School Road (exclusive).
