The Vaishnava group of temples in Deval are twelve Hindu temples in Pauri district of Uttarakhand. They consists of two subgroups – six temples that form the Vishnu group from 11th to 15th century, another six form the Lakshman and Shiva group that can be dated between 18th and 19th centuries. The site has sweeping views of the Himalayan foothills and valley. The temple groups show a wide range of Hindu temple architecture. The newer temples have cruder artwork, reflecting a loss of artisan knowledge, schools and traditions between the two periods. Inside the Vaishnava group are sculptures such as of Surya, architectural fragments and broken temple sections that suggest that the Deval site was likely larger and more complex in its history that its present condition. Near the site is an important naula (historic public waterworks).
