Category proposal

Something changed recently in this upload procedure. Categories can contain periods (.) but since half October the proposal of category names stops at the period. F.i., Rob C. Croes is a valid category name, but the procedure stops proposing at Rob C Jan Arkesteijn (talk) 19:04, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Won't go from "Describe" to "Use" page when I click "Next"

I just tried to upload two files. I filled in all the fields with the red asterisk on the "Describe" page but when I click "Next" it doesn't take me to the "Use" page. Anthonyhcole (talk) 07:40, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the report. Please tell us what browser you were using, how those files are and whether it works for you with different files or browser (I see you uploaded one image after some minutes). --Nemo 08:05, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

How well does this work

Generally this wizard is easy to use, but I would prefer 2 slight modifications.

Firstly, to be able to set the destination file name at the same time as selecting and uploading rather than at the later stage. When using this for the first time, I was all set to abort the upload and change the file name on my computer before selecting again.

Secondly, the option of entering a Permission statement through this wizard instead of by editing the file after the upload wizard has finished the process. My Permission is a reminder of attribution, even though this is included in the license, because people don't bother to read the license. Robert of Ramsor (talk) 03:35, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Hanging after 'describe' page

On 2014/03/22, the upload wizard is hanging after the 'describe' page. "Submitting details and publishing" appears, then nothing. I've had problems today in both Firefox and Chrome. Tim Adams (talk) 20:31, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

Programm-Fehler /Wizard stoped

As I've mentioned two sections up, the Upload Wizard is pretty much in a perpetual state of brokenness. Have you tried Commons:Upload? It tends to be much more reliable. —LX (talk, contribs) 09:41, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Upload Wizard

I dont like the Upload Wizard, I use the old procedure :

  • This new procedure is for beginners, with several steps. But I like to upload quickly a photo with all the necessary informations (licence, date, English and French descriptions). It is long with this new procedure.
  • This procedure allows to upload several photos with an unique description. So we have now sometimes on Commons some photos with generic descriptions. I think that every photo should have a specific description. --Tangopaso (talk) 22:05, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

problemi

Ho iniziato caricare 32 immagini piuttosto grosse (circa 5/6 Mb ciascuna) quando il processo è finito (circa 45 minuti) ho iniziato a inserire categoria, descrizione e coordinate di ciascuna immagine e questo mi ha preso diverso tempo (ancora 45 minuti). Non ci sono stati errori e alla fine ho premuto il tasto per l'invio dei dati di riepilogo; ma invece di occorrere pochi secondi è più di mezzora che la pagina è bloccata con tre messaggi così:"Peonia_3853.JPG Invio dei dettagli e pubblicazione in corso..." e l'indicatore che gira, gira, gira. La domanda è: se ci metto troppo tempo per completare le operazioni di caricamento il processo si interrompe senza avvisare? Assianir (talk) 22:33, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

Buendia ! maravillosa iniciativa esto de realizar un concurso con paisajes y/o cstumbres de Venezuela !! Los felicito ..me encanta, voy a subir algunas mias no con el fin de ganar, solo de participar en un acto que es "bien" para mi Pais.

PD-Art bug

When uploading a file and using only standard answers (say for images of historical books or maps), the wizard inserts PD-Art, which leads to an error "PD-Art template without parameter" in the uploaded file. Could this be fixed within the wizard (i.e. by asking more specific questions with respect to the template)? --Pp.paul.4 (talk) 17:14, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Loading multiple files

How do people manage to upload complete books with hundreds of files and the same categories for every file? Is there also a wizard or at least a description available? --Pp.paul.4 (talk) 17:19, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

They are probably using a bot framework like wiki-java or pywikibot. --McZusatz (talk) 19:14, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Upload completed - Process did not complete

Hi,

I confirm file uploaded and published however the indicator for "submitting details and publishing" kept on rotating infinitely.

Прошу допомогти! При завантаженні фото для об’єкту Карадагзький ПЗ ID 01-116-5002 за допомогою майстра завантажень на останньому кроці (присвоєння фоторгафіям ID) завантажились тільки 2 фото з 16. problème avec wizard

depuis le 18 mai à chaque fois que je sélectionne une image cela me dirige vers https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php ou cela ne telecharge plus.

échec d'une importation  : <api-error-unknownerror>

J'ai essayé trois fois d'importer : - d'abord quatre images (png) avec pleins d'infos (description en trois langues, deux catégories, etc...) - puis une seule image avec les mêmes infos - puis une image avec une seule description et une seule cat

A chaque fois j'ai la même erreur : <api-error-unknownerror> et impossible de revenir en arrière : je suis obligé de tout retaper. J'abandonne et vais essayer l'ancien formulaire.

Les images, si j'arrive à les importer ont pour noms : 300px-Focal-length-a.png 300px-Focal-length-b.png 300px-Focal-length-c.png 300px-Focal-length-d.png et sont issus d'une même image : 300px-Focal-length.svg.png

Progress bar flickers

While uploading multiple files, the progress bar's "time remaining" flickers between the total time and the time for one file. I say "flickering" because one of the numbers only appear momentarily then disappears. Deryck Chan (talk) 12:06, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

Trying to add my home to the "oldest in PA

Impossibly complex...and I have a background in IT... Is there a simple way to add my home ... well documented as the "oldest frame building still standing in PA to the "oldest homes in PA"... I tried, but failed. Tried using the XML (??) template in "expand" to no avail. The page will remain as I left it until someone can provide assistance. This is your first edit on this site, and I'm not sure what, if anything, this has to do with the Upload Wizard here on Wikimedia Commons. I see you made these changes over at English Wikipedia (inserting a stray dash at the top of the page, removing the table headings, truncated the entry on Caleb Pusey House, inserted an entry on Bird in Hand and changed the construction date of Farmar Mill). Система не дает загрузить логотип компании

19 мая наша компания создавала страницу в Wikipedia, о деятельности ней компании. Естесственно, мы также загрузили наш официальный логотип.

Однако, наш логотип был безосновательно удален, без объяснения причин.
