Oppose because scope includes "with legends", which is a description not a generic scope. Suggest amending scope to head of Sympetrum fonscolombi. --MichaelMaggs 17:10, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Am inclined to support now, but the image still needs categorizing. --MichaelMaggs 21:20, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment Agree with Michael, needs geocoding too. -- Slaunger 21:46, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment and Question The captions are in English. If the image was to be of maximum value to WMF projects it would be desirable to have an internationalized version, where the text is replaced by numbers, referring to localized descriptions in the image page. We often deal with these types of questions when the image is vector graphics illustration on COM:FPC, but I do not recall having such a discussion for text on a photo before. An alternative thought I just got is this. Should the image format really be SVG with an embedded jpg and the lines captions being vectorbased overlays which can easily be localized to other languages in situ? -- Slaunger 21:54, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Question Thanks. OK, I have two clarifying questions:
- I am little bit confused about the scope. Do you mean the most valuable illustration of the head of a dragonfly (Subordo Anisoptera), or is the scope the more species-specific "head of a red-veined darter (Sympetrum fonscolombii)"?
- If it is a species specific scope: You have contributed three other images of the head of the same species, Image:Darter August 2007-24.jpg, Image:Darter August 2007-27.jpg and Image:Darter August 2007-28.jpg. For me these images seems also to be candidates within the same species-specific scope. Is there a rationale for picking the photo you have nominated, which makes it more suitable as compared to the alternatives, in your mind? -- Slaunger 21:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
