Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Equus ferus caballus (Finnhorse)

Reason

The scope holds many images, I think this the best because of the following reasons:

  1. it features a high-level animal (two times the winner of the national annual female racing champion title Ravikuningatar, and registered for breeding with a Ist prize[1]) - no images of a similar level animal in a standing side pose are available for VIC as the only existing one was declined for VI because of its size
  2. it features a typical animal of the breed - the colouration (sorrel or chestnut) is the most prevalent (>90%) in the breed, and the trotter section is the most numerous as well, with most of Finnhorses being raced
  3. its quality is better than that of a few similar images available, with the animal fully visible in a good relative size and without too distracting background elements. Pitke (talk) 07:42, 3 October 2010 (UTC) -- Pitke (talk)[reply]
Review
(criteria)
  •   Comment Here we can see the sturdy conformation of a strongly muscled horse, which are features of the breed. One could maybe regret that the example is focused on a specialized trotting horse, as Finnhorse is a "multi-purpose horse" according to en:WP. I haven't made my mind yet for that reason. --Myrabella (talk) 14:55, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Info Helmi2.jpg shows the animal during the heat introduction, being held back and jogging. Helmi.jpg features a moment during a heat, with the horse at full speed, and facing the right way racing-wise. Pitke (talk) 06:12, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
