  •   Oppose - The guidance note Valued image scope states that "Buildings, like other places, should be of more than local interest to justify a scope." What is special about this building? It is not a national monument. I don't see any architectural significance. Why is it more significant than thousands of other town halls around Germany? I therefore feel that this nomination does not meet the "scope" criteria. -- Martinvl (talk) 07:49, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  •   Support Town halls are the most important buildings. They symbolize the union of citizens around common values. Every few citizens regardless of their religion or culture must recognize in this building. While it is neither historical nor beautiful. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 08:29, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I do not dispute that the town hall is an important building in the local community. However, the rules for a valid scope state quite clearly that the building should be of more than local interest to justify inclusion. -- Martinvl (talk) 10:22, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • We have a judgment too influenced by the our aesthetic and architectural values. I myself have long thought like you, but we must be more open to what others are doing. It's not easy to find the balance between what can be of value and runaway system. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 14:13, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • May I put things into perspective - Germany has 1500 "gemeinde" with a population of 10,000 or more (See here). Even if we catalogue the Rathaus of every one of these gemeinde, we will not include Juist - its population is about 1500. Add to this the Hôtels de ville in each of France's 10,000 communes, we can see how the scope escalates. I have not yet included the equivalent buildings in other countries. That is why I asked what was special about this Rathaus. -- Martinvl (talk) 18:39, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
