- Yes, it is. Train station in railway terminology is a term used to describe the facility where trains stop, and where are several tracks for crossing train traffic from different direction. Stegna Gdańska has 3 platforms and three main tracks making possible to cross trains from three directions: Sztutowo, Mikoszewo and Nowy Dwór Gdański. Train stop would be proper for small train facilities that consist of only main track and platforms (w/o additional tracks nor crossings). Karol Szapsza (talk) 16:56, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks, but there are no platforms visible, so how can this have the scope train station? Charles (talk) 19:31, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- There is in fact platform visible, it is just an unpaved area between people standing and the train itself. Not only hardened areas can be named platforms; there are many train stations in Poland where there are unpaved platforms with only white kerbstone (named officially (pol.) „krawędź peronowa” – (eng.) „the edge of the platform”). Platform form can not be used to deciding if a facility is and station or train stop. As I said before: the condidtion to use name „station” is occurrence of many tracks in the area of the railway facility; and there are many tracks in the area of Stegna Gdańska (compare: 54°19′40″N 19°06′53″E on OpenStreetMap – multiple tracks visible so fulfilling „station” term, or Polish Railway Database: https://www.bazakolejowa.pl/index.php?dzial=stacje&id=4914&ed=0&okno=historia – term „stacja” – „station” used – instead of „przystanek osobowy” – „train stop”) Karol Szapsza (talk) 23:07, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
