Description |
A Beekiller Wasp (Philanthus triangulum) paralysing a prey. The first image shows the use of the wasp's jaws to hold the bee by the neck while stinging it; in the second image, the prey stoped struggling and is being put in the right position for transportation; in the third image the bee is already in position, under the wasp, which will take off with its prey. The bee was caught in mid air and brought to the ground to be paralysed. The whole process took les than 15 seconds. |
