What?

Wiki Loves Mangaluru 2024 is a photography competition aims to collect images of various aspects of Mangaluru, showcasing its cultural and natural heritage. Participants are encouraged to capture the diversity of the city, including its monuments, events, and daily life. The scope includes, but is not limited to, images related to buildings, culture and events in Mangaluru.

When?

10 May 2024 - 10 June 2024
Deadline for submissions: June 10, 2024, 23:59 IST.
Results Declaration: 25 June 2024.

Note: You are allowed to submit any image, whether captured during or before the competition begins.

Training Session

Date: 13th May 2024
Time: 4.30pm
Venue: Animation Lab, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Mangaluru

Note: This Session is open to all. Training session involves Photography session & Photo uploading technical workshop.

Prizes

Contestants will receive prizes based on their respective categories:

Nature
Religious and Cultural Events
Sports & local cuisine
Monuments, Streets, Buildings
Students Prize (special category)

Students participating in this contest are also eligible for overall contest prizes. Please make sure your details are mentioned on the userpage or contact the local organizer

Prizes

The prizes in every category are as follows:

1st prize: Rs. 3000/-
2nd prize: Rs. 2000/-
3rd prize: Rs. 1000/-
Participant with first highest number of uploads: Rs. 3000/-
Participant with second highest number of uploads: Rs. 2000/-
Prizes will be handed over as major brand vouchers to winner's selection

(Disclaimer: Prizes will be distributed in the form of major brand gift cards or vouchers, equivalent to amount.)

What we won't accept

We won't accept media that are:

Out of Commons Project scope.
Which lack EXIF information.
that are excessive processed and digitally altered.
Pornographic and explicit images.
Artwork due to copyright issues, etc.

The theme calls for photographs that document all manner of unexplored places in Mangaluru, covering heritage, culture, calamities, objects like ships, trains, and buses, people involved in cultural activities, places of agriculture, old and new buildings, bridges, and sports events.
