Description
Nederlands: Jules Vergouts was sergeant bij de cavalerie. Hij werd later onderluitenant en tolk voor de geallieerden. Hij was bovendien wachtmeester-foerier. Hij was vooral werkzaam bij de bevoorrading en moest onder andere paarden van en naar het front brengen.

In 1918 werd hij gewond. Jules werd geboren in Antwerpen. Hij werkte voor en na de oorlog bij de Antwerpse Waterwerken. Documenten die herinneren aan de oorlogsjaren werden bezorgd door de advocaat van zijn overleden dochter. Jules had twee broers waarvan één broer sneuvelde en een ander zwaargewond werd. Jules had ook nog een zus. Hij was niet onbemiddeld. Hij bezat na de oorlog reeds een auto. Jules was ook amateurfotograaf.

Hij had veel vrienden door zijn grote talenkennis.
