Description AWM caption: "PAPUA. BUNA. ARTILLERY CLEARS WAY FOR INFANTRY. NINETY FEET ABOVE THE GROUND A FORWARD OBSERVATION OFFICER AT BUNA WATCHES THE FALL OF SHELLS FROM AN AUSTRALIAN 25 POUNDER BATTERY. HIS POST IS 300 YARDS FROM ENEMY PILLBOXES, WHICH THE BATTERY SILENCED. AS JAPS RAN FROM TRENCH TO TRENCH HIS DIRECTIONS ENABLED GUNNERS TO SPEED THEM ON THEIR WAY WITH 25 LB. SHELLS. THE GUNNERS SMILED WHEN AFTER THE O.P. CALLED FOR 2 ROUNDS GUNFIRE ON TO A POSITION INTO WHICH 4 JAPS HAD RUN FOR SHELTER, HE TOLD THEM "DAM BAD SHOOTING. ONE OF THE BASTARDS GOT UP FROM UNDER THOSE SHELLS AND RAN AWAY". THEY KNEW HE REALISED THEIR SHOOTING WAS REMARKABLY ACCURATE. (NEGATIVE BY G. SILK)."
