File:AWM HOBJ2225 Frank Kingsley Norris.jpg edit

Hi Cinderella157, could you please fix the source of this photo? The current source link delivers 404, archive.org provides no backup, and the copyright status has unfortunately not been verified. Thanks and kind regards, AFBorchert (talk) 13:11, 6 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@AFBorchert, it is from an official government site and the file name is linked to the accession number of the original. I would not send a message such as this to another user unless I had attempted to resolve the matter myself and was unsuccessful - then, I would expain why and apologise for not being able to do so. Did you bother to attempt to remedy this yourself? Why is this an issue of such significance that it demands my attention? The internet changes but despite this, there is still an auditable link to the original photograph. Please interpret my terseness for exactly what it is. I do not suffer petty bureaucracy lightly. If I have in any way, misunderstood your actions or intent, then I suggest you modify how you interact on this site in future to avoid such misunderstandings. Not many regards, Cinderella157 (talk) 12:11, 14 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cinderella157, this quite simply your upload and the copyright status has not been verified yet (see Commons:License review). You are claiming that this photo has been released under a {{Cc-zero}} license. Do you have a proof for this? Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 12:28, 14 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@AFBorchert, I am not claiming anything. I had intended the PS to be a link to the photograph's page. My apology to the extent that it wasn't (and has now been corrected). The Australian War Memorial photograph is tagged with "Public Domain Mark 1.0" by that institution. A net search on "Australian War Memorial" and a search on the accession number "HOBJ2225" requires neither great skill nor time - less than your original message. You have made my original point yet again. Cinderella157 (talk) 22:10, 14 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, Cinderella157, for fixing the source link which allowed me to fix the license tag, add author information etc., see here. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 05:35, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
