Description

Pewter. The 3rd generation Fox body Mustang was made from 1979-1993, a substantial update in 1987, the grille and quad headlights replaced by modern single headlights and the no grille aero look. It was available again in coupe or hatchback. In 1979 Base, Ghia or Cobra and engines were the 2.3 litre 4 cyl, 2.8 V6 and 5.0 V8. The Mustang was again chosen as pace car for duties in the Indianapolis 500. Ford commemorated the honor with an Indy 500 pace car edition. 3 official pace cars were created for track duty, which got a T-top roof. About 11,000 copies with the standard roof were produced in the same two-tone pewter and black with orange graphics, 2.3 litre Turbo or 5.0 V8. This 5.0 car is 1 of 12 built for promotional purposes, slight paint differences.
