Русский: Механизм взрыва снаряда французского 380 мм орудиz модели 1935 года во время нападения на Дакар 24 сентября 1940 года.
  • 1. Из-за повышенной начальной температуры зарядов пороха SD21 в канале ствола при выстреле давление достигло не расчетной величины 3700 кг/см2. Крышка, прикрывающая полость, разрушается.
  • 2. Осколки крышки пробивают верх полости.
  • 3. Горячие газы из каморы пробиваются внутрь снаряда.
  • 4. Газы поджигают разрывной заряд внутри снаряда и происходит его взрыв внутри ствола.
English: *1. The overpressure resulting from the high temperature of the SD21 propellant (3700kg/cm2) causes the screw cap over the cavity to shatter.
  • 2. Fragments of the cap bombard the roof of the cavity, which cracks at its weakest point where it has been machined.
  • 3. The combustion gases from the propellant are forced through the roof of the cavity under pressure.
  • 4. The hot combustion gases make contact with the explosive, causing the shell to explode in the barrel.
Français : *1. La surpression résultant de la température élevée de la gargousse de poudre SD 21 (3700 kg/cm2) amène le bouchon à vis sur d'une des cavités à la base de l'obus de 380 mm pour y loger des cartouches de gaz toxiques à se briser.
  • 2. Des fragments du couvercle de protection de la cavité bombardent le toit de la cavité, qui se fissure à son point le plus faible où il a été usiné.
  • 3. Les gaz de combustion du propulseur sont forcés à travers le toit de la cavité sous pression.
  • 4. Les gaz de combustion chaud entrent en contact avec l'explosif, provoquant l'explosion de l'obus dans le canon.
