English: photo of a pile of grass silage bales, packed in plastic, under the shadow of trees; region Midden-Drenthe in North-Netherlands, Fons Heijnsbroek, May 2012. – In Dutch agriculture this is the recent way of storing the mowed grass for the milk-cows: the grass packed in the plastic film starts to acidify in a subtle way what generates the conservation of the nutritive value of the grass for the cattle. It is a better way of grass conversation than the old manner of dry hay stored in a haystack
