| Description |
English: Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 3928 (GK51 SZF), a DAF SB120/Wright Cadet, in Sythwood, Woking, Surrey, broken down on route 28. The bus is on the link road between Bullbeggars Lane and the main part of Sythwood, the unwritten boundary between Horsell and Goldsworth Park. From 1 September 2009, route 28 was cut to only operate between Guildford and Knaphill Sainsbury's, rather than continuing to Woking via Goldsworth Park and Horsell as it had done previously. This was with the exception of one school journey which continued to run as far as Woking High School in Horsell, with a return journey to Guildford to take school children back from school. The journey that had run in the mornings via the school was withdrawn, leaving pupils to catch the 48 from Brookwood and Knaphill into Woking and then change to the 462 school journey which extended to the school, or catch the 91 from Goldsworth Park and walk from Sythwood. This was not popular, so eventually route 134 was diverted to run via Goldsworth Park in the mornings before running through Horsell. After a year's gap, as part of Phase 1 of Surrey County Council's Bus Review, route 28 was extended back to Woking from August 2010, this time with Surrey CC support. 3928 is seen here on the journey from Woking High School back to Guildford, but it only made it as far as Sythwood before breaking down. The bus driver was out of the cab directing traffic, as it is quite an awkward place to break down in such a large vehicle. |
