| Description |
English: Down freight on the rail level-crossing at Ashchurch. View northward from the end of the Up platform; ex-Midland Birmingham - Bristol main line. The single line crossing on the level connected the line from Evesham (to the right) with the line to Tewkesbury, being controlled by Ashchurch Level Crossing signalbox, which was just off frame on the right and sited off the end of the Down platform. This crossing was the scene of a bad collision in 1929; the loop was taken up a few years after this scene. Note the Midland signal on the left. The Down Class H freight is headed by LMS 4F 0-6-0 No. 44362. |
