Description
English: Bridlington harbour, Yorkshire.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Bridlington was both a popular holiday destination and a busy seaport. In this photograph, the harbour bustles with tourists and fishermen, and sailing boats can be seen carrying passengers out to sea. Their journeys could be followed using the telescope near the railings. Other visitors are boarding the paddle steamer, the ‘Frenchman’, at the harbour’s mouth, for a sightseeing trip around the bay.
