English: LIBI_00019_00575; This item is a card-mounted (possibly collodion or albumen) photograph of Brigadier General George A. Custer seated view and wearing his military uniform. The oval-shaped photograph is 5 3/8 x 7 3/8" (7 3/4" x 9 3/4" mounted). As noted on page 22 of D. Mark Katz's book, the image was produced in 1864 by William Frank Brown. The image is either faded or lightly toned. The verso is signed in pencil by Elizabeth B. Custer.Photograph reprinted in "The Custer Album" by Lawrence A.
