For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Sachsendorf, Vertriebene beim Erntefest Leben und Arbeit der Umsiedler im Land Brandenburg. Sachsendorf liegt im Oderbruch, wo besonders große, durch Krieg und Dammbruch verursachte Schäden zu überwinden sind. Durch Blitzbauten ist in der letzten Zeit schon ein merklicher Umschwung in der Lage der Umsiedler geschaffen worden. Das diesjährige Erntefest am 24. September 1950 wurde daher freudig und hoffnungsvoll begangen. UBz: Die Brüder Otto Zimmerling (links) und Bruno Zimmerling, Umsiedler aus Rumänien, haben ihr Soll mit 100 Prozent erfüllt. Im Klubraum des Kurturhauses stoßen sie auf die errungenen Erfolge an.
