For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Calenberge, Bauer auf dem Feld Bauern und Landarbeiter sagen "Ja" zur Volksbefragung. Der Bauer Franz Krietsch in Calenberge bei Magdeburg erklärt: "Selbstverständlich werde auch ich mich mit "Ja" entscheiden. Ich kenne den Krieg. Ich wurde im Ersten Weltkrieg in Frankreich verwundet, während des zweiten Weltkrieges musste ich den Hof meines Sohnes verwalten. Mit meinen 70 Jahren bin ich jetzt ein alter Mann und möchte nicht, dass mein Sohn noch einmal in einen mörderischen Krieg ziehen muss."
