For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Illus-Biscan 6.7.1951 Im Bereich des Wasserstraßenamtes Magdeburg wird das letzte Wrack (das 262te) gehoben.- Im Bereich des Wasserstrassenamtes Magdeburg lagen 262 Wracks auf dem Grund der Elbe. In diesen Tagen wird das letzte Wrack gehoben, ein ehemaliger Kettendampfer, der bei dem anglo-amerikanischen Großangriff auf Magdeburg durch Bomben versenkt wurde. Mit Beendigung dieser Arbeit, die noch etwa 10 Tage dauert, ist die Elbe bei Magdeburg wieder frei von gesunkenen Schiffen und Trümmern, die die Schiffahrt gefärdeten. Die gehobenen Schiffe werden je anch ihrem Zustand wieder instandgesetzt oder verschrottet.- UBz: Die Sprengung wird vorbereitet. Der Sprengmeister stelle eine geballte Ladung her, die vorsichtig hinabgelassen wird. |
