Bei der Isolierung von Kühlräumen und Kühlschränken spielen die sog. "Styroflex"-Platten eine wichtige Rolle. Ihre Verwendung erforderte aber eine bisher sehr schwierige und langwierige Arbeit: das zuschneiden der Platten. Ingenieur Richard Otto vom Forschungsinstitut für Kühllagerung in Magdeburg hat nunmehr ein Verfahren entwickelt, das die Schwierigkeiten voll und ganz behebt.

UBz: Ingenieur Otto mit einer Styroflex-Platte. Das glasklare, schwammartige Material, das aus mehreren zusammengehefteten Lagen Zellglas besteht, lässt sich mit Messern und Scheren nicht sauber schneiden.
