For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Schmorkau, Bauer mit einem Rind Zum III. Deutschen Bauerntag. der im Dezember 1951 in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik durchgeführt wird, haben bereits jetzt viele wektätige Bauern Selbstverpflichtungen übernommen. UBz: Gottfried Balzer aus Schmorkau bei Königsbrück, der neben seiner Arbeit als Glasmacher noch fünf Ha. Land bewirtschaftet, verpflichtete sich, bis zum III. Deutschen Bauerntag nach dem Muster der Schweinehütten des Schulgutes Wiesa zwei Schweinehütten zu bauen. Er erklärte: "Auch wir Kleinstbaurn müssen alles daran setzen, die Lebenslage unserer Bevölkerung zu verbessern und noch höhere Erträge, besonders in der Viehaltung zu erreichen. Der III. Deutsche Bauerntag soll eine machtwolle Demonstation dafür werden."
