For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Das Hochhaus an der Weberwiese in Berlin. An der Weberwiese in Berlin entsteht das erste Wohnhochhaus Berlins. Das neunstöckige Hochhaus wird 33 Drei-Zimmer-Wohnungen, zwei Läden und eine Hausmeisterwohnung im Erdgeschoss erhalten. Die Haupttreppe des Hochhauses wird ihr Licht neben künstlicher Beleuchtung von einem oberhalb des neunten Geschosses befindlichen Turmbau, der sogenannten Laterne, empfangen. Dieser Turmbau wird die Fahrstuhlmaschinerie, einen Trinkwasserspeicher und das Ausdehnungsgefäss für die Zentralheizung enthalten. Die Laterne wird ferner einen Umgang erhalten und von einem Dachgarten umgeben sein. Aus Sicherheitsgründen sind in dem Hochhaus noch zwei Nebentreppen vorhanden, von denen aus auch die Müllschlucker erreichbar sind. Im Treppenhaus befindet sich der Fahrstuhl, der sechs Personen aufnehmen kann. UBz: Blick auf die Hochhausbaustelle (7.
