For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB Ludwig 19.1.84 Bez. Erfurt: Modernisierung Gute Fortschritte und viele Erfahrungen wurden in den letzten Jahren bei der komplexen Modernisierung ganzer Straßenzüge im Herzen von Arnstadt, vor 1280 Jahren zum ersten Mal urkundlich erwähnt und so der älteste Ort der Republik, gemacht. Die dabei entwickelte Partnerschaft zwischen Bauschaffenden, Volksvertretern und Bevölkerung wird auch für die für 1984 geplanten Maßnahmen von großem Nutzen sein. So entstehen im innerstädtischen Wohnungsbau 78 Wohnungen unweit des historischen Marktplatzes und 597 Wohnungen der 30 000 Einwohner zählenden Kreisstadt werden modernisiert.
