For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Borna, GPG, Zuchtstation für Nützlinge ADN-ZB Kluge 20.3.85 Bez. Leipzig: Biologischer Pflanzenschutz-Die tödliche Feindschaft von Roter Spinne und Raubmilbe machten sich die Gärtner der GPG "Frieden" Borna zunutze. Haben Rote Spinnen Gewächshausgutken befallen, werden die gefährlichen Schädlinge nicht mit chemischen Mitteln bekämpft, sondern Raupmilben ins Feld geführt. Diese natürlichen Widersacher fressen die verheerenden Spinnen in wenigen Tagen auf, wobei eine Milbe täglich zehn bis 15 Eier, Larven oder ausgewachsene Insekten vertilgt. Um ihre "Ordnungshüter" ständig einsatzbereit zu haben, richteten die Bornaer eine Zuchtstation ein. Gärtner Volker Maibaum kontrolliert die Vermehrung deer Milben. - siehe auch ADN-Meldung vom 19.3.85 -
