For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Eisenach, Wohnblocks, Springbrunnen ADN-ZB Ludwig-9.7.85 Bez. Erfurt: Städteporträt Eisenach - Alte und neue Bauten sind in Eisenach in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft. So wurde 1975 bis 1978 im Nordwesten der Altstadt dieses moderne Wohngebiet erbaut. Es war zugleich der erste Abschnitt zur Umgestaltung der Innenstadt. Über 700 Wohnungen, Versorgungseinrichtungen des Handels, der Gastronomie sowie des Dienstleistungsbereiches wurden errichtet.

Der dargestellte Springbrunnen wurde zunächst in der Jakobstraße installiert und wurde nach dort erforderlichen Tiefbaumaßnahmen auf den Eisenacher Theaterplatz verlegt. Seit 2010 ist er auch dort wieder entfernt worden - er wurde erneut wegen erforderlicher Sanierungsarbeiten am Wasserbecken demontiert, auch soll der Theaterplatz architektonisch neu gestaltet werden.
