For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Leipzig, Deutsche Bücherei, Kartensammlung ADN-ZB Grubitzsch 25.9.87 Leipzig: 75 Jahre Deutsche Bücherei- Über 400.000 deutschsprachige Karten und Atlanten aus aller Welt werden in der Kartensammlung für Studienzwecke genutzt. Die Deutsche Bücherei, die im Oktober 87 ihre Jubiläum begeht, ist das Gesamtarchiv des deutschsprachigen Schrifttums der Welt. Sie sammelt sämtliche Publikationen, die zwischen 1913 und 1945 im deutschen Reich und seit dem 8. Mai 1945 auf den Territorien der DDR, der BRD und von Berlin (West) herausgegeben wurden und werden. Die "DB" verfügt über einen Bestand von mehr als 8 Millionen Bibliographischen Einheiten. (siehe 14,16,17 N)
