For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Meliorationsmaschine, Drainage ADN-ZB Hirndorf 27.10.87-pr Bez. Erfurt: Diese 120-PS leistungsstarke Raupe des Meliorationskombinates Erfurt dient der Drainung von Ackerland. Die Drainrohre mit einem Durchmesser von 53 und 63 mm werden in Abständen von 8-10 Metern bis zu 1, 20 m tief verlegt. Die Be- und Entwässerungsmaßnahmen dienen der Regulierung des Wasserhaushalts des Bodens und damit der Ertragserhöhung.
