For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Gotha, Zeichen für Agrarflieger ADN-ZB Ludwig-17.6.88 Bez.Erfurt: Schutz für die Wälder-Mit Signalballons und farbigen Wimpeln in den Fischtenwipfeln markieren die Forstarbeiter des Staatlichen Forstwirtschaftsbetriebes Gotha Waldflächen, die zum Schutz vor Umweltbelastungen und Schädlingsbefall aviochemisch behandelt werden sollen. Piloten aus der DDR, der UdSSR und der VR Bulgarien arbeiten bei der Magnesium-Kalk-Düngung aus der Luft zusammen. Zur Erhaltung der "grünen Lunge" wurden in den zurückliegenden Wochen in der DDR ca. 18000 Hektar Wald ausgeforstet. Rund 200000 Hektar werden in diesem Jahr aus der Luft gedüngt. -Siehe auch 1988-0617-4N und 5N.
