For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB Hirndorf 11.8.1988 Erfurt: Das Palmenhaus in Erfurt wurde vor kurzem nach viermonatiger gründlicher Rekonstruktion den Bauleuten des WBK als "Haus der Baukunst" übergeben. Das 100 Jahre alte Denkmal der Glashausarchitektur des 19. Jahrhunderts - vergleichbar mit den größeren Kristallpalästen in London und Paris - diente einst als Bukettbinderei und Blumenverkaufsraum der namhaften Gärtnerei I.C. Schmidt. Heute dient das attraktive Gebäude den Bauschaffenden als Kommunikations- und Ausstellungszentrum. Für Interessenten gibt es ab und zu einen "Tag der offenen Tür". |
