For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Häßler-6.11.89-Dresden: Protest-Tausende Dresdner beteiligten sich trotz strömenden Regens an einer Demonstration in ihrer Heimatstadt. Gemeinsam mit dem 1. Sekretär der SED-Bezirksleitung Dresden, Hans Modrow (r.), und dem Oberbürgermeister Wolfgang Berghofer (M) - umgeben von Mitgliedern der Gruppe 20" - bewegten sie sich durch das Zentrum zu einer Kundgebung am Fucik-Platz. Mitgeführte Transparente artikulierten u.a. Forderungen nach "Reisegesetz - so nicht", "Freie Wahlen jetzt" und "Das Volk ist kein Bittsteller"."
