For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Weimar, Herder-Kirche
Zentralbild Klein Ra-Kno-Fg 3.6.1953 Wiederinstandsetzung der Herder-Gedenkstätten in Weimar Die Herderkirche in Weimar wurde im Februar 1945 durch amerikanische Bomben schwer beschädigt. 1952 wurde die Kirche mit Unterstützung der Regierung der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik wiederhergestellt. Am 14.6.1953 wird die offizielle Übergabe und Einweihung der Kirche erfolgen. Für den Wiederaufbau des Kulturdenkmals haz der Dichter Thomas Mann Geldbeträge zur Vefügung gestellt. |
