For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Erfurt, Medizinischen Akademie Zentralbild Schmidt 6.9.1954 Wjt-Qu. Neubau der Medizinischen Akademie Erfurt wurde fertiggestellt. Am 17.9.1954 findet in Erfurt die feierliche Eröffnung der Medizinischen Akademie statt. Unsere Arbeiter- und Bauernregierung hat zum Bau eines Pathologischen Institutes erhebliche Mittel zur Verfügung gestellt. Vorerst werden 50 Studenten ihr Studium aufnehmen. In den nächsten Jahren wird sich diese Zahl auf das 4 fache erhöhen. UBz: Der Maler Erich Podeshwa und Meister Willy Gortrielik verlassen als letzte Handwerker das neu erbaute Gebäude der Medizinischen Klinik der Akademie, in der sich der Hörsaal, die Kursräume sowie das Labor befinden.
