For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild Rösener 20.9.1957 Erster Großeinsatz für den Martinofen in Magdeburg. Rund 600 Kinder versammelten sich am 15.9.1957 vormittags zum ersten Schrottsammel-Großeinsatz für den Martinofen in Magdeburg. Mit Handwagen, Karren und sonstigen Traggeräten kamen die Schüler der "Berta-von Suttner-Schule" zum Sammelplatz. Die Bevölkerung des Stadtbezirks Südost wurde durch Lautsprecherwagen aufgefordert, Boden und Keller zu entrümpeln und die Kinder holten das Altmaterial ab. Die Kinder waren so eifrig, daß 10 Fahrzeuge den Abtransport des Schrotts nicht mehr schafften. Die Sammlung mußte deshalb vorzeitig abgebrochen werden. Am nächsten Sonntag wird die Aktion im Stadtbezirk Mitte durchgeführt. UBz: Wieder haben die Kinder eine Wagenladung voll Altmaterial gesammelt und bringen sie freudig zum Sammelplatz." |
