Zentralbild Schmidt 31.3.1959 Quaschinsky Zum 200. Todestag Georg Friedrich Händels Auf Händels Spuren in Halle Am 14. April 1959 jährt sich zum 200. Male der Todestag des großen deutschen Komponisten Georg Friedrich Händel. Aus Anlaß dieses Tages findet in der DDR eine Händelfestwoche statt, die in seiner Geburtsstadt Halle durchgeführt wird. Neben den Aufführungen einiger seiner Opern und Konzertwerke wird ein Festakt der Regierung der DDR stattfinden, auf der Ministerpräsident Otto Grotewohl die Festrede halten wird. Unsere Reporter begleiteten drei junge Musikstudentinnen auf einem Streifzug durch Händels Geburtsstadt Halle und wandelten mit ihnen auf den Spuren des großen Komponisten. UBz: Mitten auf dem Marktplatz von Halle erhebt sich das Denkmal Georg Friedrich Händels, an dem alljährlich zu seinem Todestag einen Kranzniederlegung stattfindet. Hier hatten wir uns mit den drei Studentinnen verabredet und hier fanden wir Barbara, Marianne und Edelgard (v. r. n. l.) beim Betrachten des Denkmals. |
