For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Grabensprengung zur Entwässerung
Zentralbild Martin 25.7.1959 Jugendobjekt Milchstraße Berlin. 43000 ha Wiesen- und Buschland legen Jugendliche für die landwirtschaftliche Nutzung im Havel-Rienluch trocken. Diese Wiesen waren bisher zur Viehfütterung nicht zu verwerten, da sie die meiste Zeit des Jahres unter Wasser standen. 1550 freiwillig arbeitende Jugendliche reinigen die vorhandenen Gräben und legen neue Gräben an, damit der Grundwasserspiegel sinkt und das Regen- sowie Schmelzwasser im Frühjahr abfliessen kann. Damit stehen erhebliche Mengen Futter zusätzlich zur Verfügung, wodurch die Landwirtschaftsbetriebe dieser Gegend in der Lage sind, ihre Viehbestände erheblich zu erweitern und die tierische Produktion zu steigern. UBz: Ein Graben wird gesprengt. |
