For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild-Zühlsdorf Ber-Noa 6.6.1960 Cyrus S. Eaton im Haus der Wissenschaft in Leipzig Der in der DDR weilende amerikanische Großindustrielle und Lenin-Friedenspreisträger Cyrus Eato traf am 4.6.1960 zusammen mit seiner Gattin in der Messestadt Leipzig ein. Nach dem Besuch der 8. Landwirtschaftsausstellung am Nachmittag gab der Oberbürgermeister von Leipzig zu Ehren der amerikanischen Gäste im Haus der Wissenschaft ein Essen, an dem u.a. der Leiter des Gewandhausorchesters, Prof. Konwitschny, teilnahm. UBz: Angeregte Unterhaltung im Haus der Wissenschaften zwischen Cyrus Eaton (3.v.l.) und Prof. Konwitschny (rechts). Sitzend die Gattin Mr. Eatons. |
