This image needs to have its border removed. Where borders are desired they should be added with wikimarkup or code.

NOTE: Engravings, etchings, photogravures, or any image where information would be lost, or the frame is integral part of the original postcard, document etc., DO NOT NEED their borders cropped; a cropped image of this type generally will violate the original artistic intent of the image, which includes the paper surrounding it. Especially images with {{Border is intentional}} should be not overwritten. If it is desirable to have a cropped version for specific uses, this should be uploaded as a separate file, and linked back to the original. This can be requested by using {{Extract image}} instead.

If the file is a photo of an artwork in perspective and with context (a physical frame, a place where the work is located etc.), use {{Extract image}} for request for a detailed image or a flat copy.

Any text from the border should be included in the image description. If the border contains author and license information, this may also be embedded in the file itself and the tag, {{Metadata from image}}, should be added.

For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Metschow, Bauern beim Melken Zentralbild Krisch 8.11.1960 Hohe Milchleistung in der LPG "Glückliche Zukunft" Metschow, Kreis Demmin. "Siehste Willy, wenn man vorher das Euter gut wäscht und anschliessend massiert, gibt auch die Kuh viel mehr Milch" rät der Melker Karl Koblitz (sitzend) seinem Kollegen Willy Speckmann (links). "Immerhin gibt diese 7 Jahre alte Kuh 4 400 ltr Milch im Jahr". Mit Interesse verfolgen die beiden Melker Arnold Schwarz (Mitte) und Ulrich Schult (rechts) den kleinen Erfahrungsaustausch. Die Bauern von der LPG "Glückliche Zukunft" haben sich vorgenommen, in diesem Jahr die Leistung der Kühe auf 3 800 ltr. Milch zu steigern. Kollege Schult will versuchen, in seinem Stall die Leistung auf 4.000 ltr. pro Kuh zu bringen. Bis Ende September betrug die Marktproduktion bereits 798 kg pro ha. Eine feste Stallordnung und eine gute Futtergrundlage (Sauerblatt und Kraftfutter) sind die Voraussetzungen für eine so hohe Leistung. Die feste Stallordnung sieht vor, dass die Kühe am Sonnabend und Sonntag genau so gefüttert und gemolken werden, wie an jedem anderen Tag. Die Kühe sind nach Leistungsgruppen eingeteilt und werden entsprechend gefüttert. Auch wird darauf geachtet, die Abkalbezeiten sehr kurz zu halten - mindestens im Jahr einmal.
