For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Gotha, Schloss Friedenstein, Ekhof-Theater Zentralbild Wittig 16.12.1960 Nl-Qu. Historisches Ekhoftheater erstrahlt in neuem Glanz - Instandsetzung des jahrhundertealten Bühnenmechanismus vorgesehen. Das historische Ekhoftheater im Westteil des Schlosses Friedenstein in Gotha erstrahlt wieder in voller Schönheit, nachdem die denkmalspflegerischen Arbeiten in dieser Gedenkstätte aus der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts innerhalb verhältnismäßig kurzer zeit im wesentlichen abgeschlossen wurden. In dem jetzt renovierten Bühnenhaus sollen im kommenden Jahr die letzten Handgriffe verrichtet werden, um auch den vollkommen aus Holzkonstruktionen bestehenden Bühnenmechanismus - ein Werk italienischer Künstler - wieder funktionsgerecht herzustellen.
