For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Berlin, VdJ-Fotoausstellung "Der Tag begann"
Zentralbild Brüggmann 30.3.1961 Berlin: Erfolgreicher Abschluß der Ausstellung "Der Tag begann..." 29.613 Besucher, darunter viele aus Westdeutschland und Westberlin, zählte die Ausstellung "Der Tag begann Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit für alle Völker", die der Verband der Deutschen Journalisten vom 17.2. bis 31.3.1961 im Internationalen Ausstellungszentrum am Bahnhof Friedrichstrasse in Berlin zeigte. Die Ausstellung entlarvte das imperialistische Kolonialsystem und zeigte besonders anschaulich, wie viele Völker Afrikas ihre Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit erkämpften.
