For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Karin Beyer Zentralbild Schaar Wen-Kt 4.7.1962 Richtfest im Leipziger Schwimmstadion Karin Beyer über 110 Yards neuen Weltrekord In Anwesenheit des Ehrenpräsidenten der Europameisterschaften im Schwimmen, Dr. Johannes Dieckmann, fand am 3.7. das Richtfest der Bauarbeiter für das 55-Xard-Becken in der bereits fertiggestellten Anlage im Schwimmstadion statt. Zu Ehren der Bauarbeiter waren die ersten Wettkämpfer. Beim anschließenden Start einiger Spitzensportler schwammen Karin Beyer über 110 Yards Brust neuen Weltrekord. UBz: Karin Beyer (Mitte) erhält Glückwünsche ihrer Sportfreundinnen.
