For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Kohls Preu-Qu 1.11.1963 Altarweihe in der St. Hedwigs-Kathedrale in Berlin. Diese 1943 fast völlig zerstörte Kirche wurde mit Unterstützung der Regierung der DDR, die eine halbe Million DM zur Verfügung stellte, seit 1952 in mühevoller Arbeit wieder aufgebaut. Am 1.11.1963, dem 190. Jahrestag der Weihe der Kirche von 1773, wurde die feierliche Altarweihe von Erzbischof Dr. Bengsch vollzogen. UBz. Erzbischof Dr. Bengsch bei seiner Ankunft.
