For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Rudolf-Friedrichs-Brücke ADN-ZB Häßler 4.7.1971-B-Dresden: Dr.-Rudolf-Friedrichs-Brücke dem Verkehr übergeben-Als achte Elbbrücke Dresdens wurde am 3.7.1971 die "Dr.-Rudolf-Friedrichs-Brücke" dem Verkehr übergeben. Damit erfüllten die Brücken- und Straßenbauer der Elbestadt eine wichtige Verpflichtung zum VIII. Parteitag der SED und schlossen das letzte Bindeglied in der für den Verkehr überaus wichtigen Nord-Süd-Verbindung durch Dresden.
