For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Eisenach, Bach-Denkmal Zentralbild Moses 21.3.1950 5864-50 Ho. Festliche Eröffnung des Bach-Jahres 1950 durch die deutsche Jugend. Am 19. März 1950 wurde durch die Bach-Ehrung der deutschen Jugend in Eisenach, der Geburtsstadt des grossen deutschen Komponisten, die Reihe der grossen Festveranstaltungen anlässlich der 200.Wiederkehr des Todestages von Johann Sebastian Bach eröffnet. An der Ehrung nahmen über 400 junge Menschen teil, unter ihnen auch eine Anzahl Jugendlicher aus Westdeutschland. Die Teilnahme aller in der Nationalen Front vereinten kulturellen und politischen Organisationen zeigt, dass das geistige Erbe der Nation in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und besonders bei ihrer Jugend wohl aufgehoben ist. UBz: Kranzniederlegung der Freien Deutschen Jugend am Bach-Denkmal vor dem Geburtshaus des Komponisten.
