Notes
  • Significance: Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site was established on October 17, 1968. Located at Flat Rock, North Carolina, this National Historic Site is composed of the two hundred and forty two acres of the Sandburg Estate and six acres of adjacent property. It was here that Carl Sandburg lived and worked during the last twenty two years of his life until his death at this site on July 22, 1967. The Farm Manager's House is a two story, eight room, wood-frame structure, located on the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site. Built around the turn of the twentieth century, this structure was used by the Sandburg's as a residence for their goat herdsman for nearly twenty five years. The building is an important element of the overall farm scene.
