Notes
  • Significance: Casa Blanca was built as a residence and fort for Juan Ponce de Leon and his family, although de Leon died in an expedition to Florida without ever getting to occupy the structure. He was the first Spanish governor of Puerto Rico and the founder of the first community on the island. It subsequently was occupied by members of the Spanish army and later American generals. Beyond its historical associations, the structure also has significance as a museum of 16th and 17th century artifacts.
  • Unprocessed Field note material exists for this structure: N104
  • Survey number: HABS PR-106
