| Description |
English: Railway from Blackburn approaching Clitheroe, 1986. View NE from the B6243 bridge: ex-L&Y Blackburn - Hellifield (Ribble Valley) secondary main line. Regular passenger services on this line ceased from 10/9/62, but it has remained open for freight and (except 2/71 - 5/90) for special and diverted passenger trains. From 29/5/94 Clitheroe station was reopened again for a regular service to Blackburn. In this 1986 photograph, the platforms can just be discerned in the distance. |
